It is a matter for individual housing authorities to plan and initiate housing schemes in their functional areas, having regard to established needs and to the capital allocations available for their house building programme. My Department will be issuing a circular letter shortly to each housing authority inviting detailed claims for the allocation of capital for their on-going housing commitments. A further circular will be issued in early spring regarding claims for housing schemes on which it is hoped to commence work in 1984.
