Vol. 346 No. 9

Written Answers. - Posts Offices and Sub-Post Offices.

407.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the position regarding the closing times of post offices; if they are obliged to stay open until the times specified on their doors or if they can open and close at will; if this also applies to sub-post offices.

Departmentally staffed post offices are open for business at times determined by the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs. Sub-post offices are open at times determined in accordance with the contract with the Minister. All post offices, including sub-post offices, are expected to be open for business and to stay open during the hours indicated at each office. If the Deputy has cause for inquiry in the case of any particular post office or sub-post office, I should be glad to look into the matter.
