Vol. 347 No. 1

Written Answers. - Castlebar General Hospital.

390.

asked the Minister for Health the amount made available in the 1984 Estimates for work on the building of Castlebar General Hospital, County Mayo.

The Estimates for 1984 contain a provision of £55.5 million for capital works on hospitals and other health facilities. The capital allocation in 1984 allows for ongoing planning for the development of Castlebar General Hospital. The tender documentation for this project is at present being revised and current indications are that this process should be completed by the middle of this year.

Details of a medium term health capital programme are at present under review. A decision on the starting date for construction of this development will be taken in the light of this review. I will communicate with the Deputy when the review is completed.
