Statistics showing the number of adjournments in court cases in County Wexford for which free legal aid had been granted are not available and could be compiled only by the expenditure of a disproportionate amount of staff time.
Records of the fees paid to individual solicitors under the criminal legal aid scheme are kept on a tax-year basis in my Department. The amounts paid to solicitors in County Wexford (not including payments in respect of VAT, travelling, subsistence and other disbursements) for each of the tax years ended 5 April 1981, 1982 and 1983, are in the form of a tabular statement which I propose to circulate in the Official Report.
