Vol. 347 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Wexford Garda Appointment.

564.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will provide a Garda sergeant at Taghmon village, County Wexford; and if he will make a statement on the delay in making an allocation.

Limerick East): The detailed deployment of Garda manpower is a matter for the Garda authorities who have informed me that they have no proposals to assign a sergeant to Taghmon. The question of assigning sergeants to small stations such as Taghmon is under review having regard to the need to make maximum use of available manpower resources and to assign members of supervisory rank to stations where there is the greatest need for their services.

The current Garda service provided from Taghmon station is, of course, supplemented by uniform and plainclothes patrols operating from the Divisional Headquarters at Wexford.
