Vol. 347 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

210.

asked the Minister for the Environment the position regarding the payment of a £1,000 grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

This application for a new house grant was rejected because, contrary to a statutory condition of the scheme, the floor area of the house exceeds the maximum allowable which is 125 square metres (1,346 sq. ft.).

211.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will authorise the payment of grants in respect of group water schemes in County Galway to take account of the people who were admitted to the scheme during the course of its construction.

A revised grant allocation to include persons who have joined the scheme while under construction issued in respect of this group scheme on 23 January 1984 as follows:

40 Domestic Water Supply Grants

@£560

£22,560

44 Potential Farm Water Supply Grants

@£400

£17,600

Total

£40,160

212.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the £5,000 final payment of a special contribution will be paid in respect of a group water scheme (details supplied) in County Galway; and the reason for the delay in paying it.

Galway County Council were asked on 2 December 1983 to pay the balance of their special contribution towards the cost of this scheme and I understand that payment will be made by the county council within the next three weeks.

213.

asked the Minister for the Environment when final grant payments will be paid in respect of a group water scheme (details supplied) in County Galway.

Grant instalments totalling £16,800 have been paid to the group and the Department's inspector has been asked to certify payment of such further amount on foot of the grants as may be in order.

214.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the final grant payments will be paid in respect of a group water scheme (details supplied) in County Galway.

Forms G.W. 65 have been sent to the organiser for completion by the group members as a necessary preliminary to final payment of the grants. It is not possible at this stage to say when final payments may be made.

215.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

There has been no undue delay in dealing with this case. The file is with my Department's inspector for investigation and report with a view to payment of the grant.
