Vol. 347 No. 3

Written Answers. - Athlone Flooding.

268.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware of the severe hardship caused to the three families living in the village of Killnamanagh, Athlone, County Roscommon who are cut off by flooding for long periods of the year; if he will indicate when the necessary drainage work will be undertaken to allow the families concerned to travel to and from their houses all year round; and when the drainage work is likely to be completed.

I have no information on the area referred to which is in the Shannon River Basin. There is no prospect of arterial drainage works being undertaken by the Commissioners of Public Works in this area in the foreseeable future.
