Vol. 347 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

313.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if a grant under the western drainage scheme will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The grant of £6,630 has been paid.

314.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if 1982 and 1983 sheep headage grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The person named will be paid his sheep headage grants under the 1982 and 1983 disadvantaged areas schemes as soon as the batches which include his payments are processed.

315.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if grants will be approved for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the applicant is on a six year development plan under the farm modernisation scheme.

The applicant in this case was a development farmer whose plan expired in November 1983. The farm structures in question were not included in his plan at the time of suspension of grant aid for farm buildings and fixed assets under the farm modernisation scheme in February, 1983. Accordingly, even if his plan were to be extended to allow for the time lost during the suspension of aid, the structures in question could not be aided as part of his development plan. However the applicant could qualify for an interest subsidy as a commercial farmer for items eligible under the revised Scheme introduced with effect from 3 January 1984, provided that the written approval of the Farm Development Service is obtained before work commences.

316.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if a grant under the farm modernisation scheme will be approved for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the application has been made for some time.

The application in this case was received on 25 January 1984. Arrangements are being made for an early visit to the applicant.
