Vol. 347 No. 7

Written Answers. - Louth Road Grants.

278.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will ensure that the unexpended balance of allocated grants amounting to £360,000 at the end of 1983 will be made available to Dundalk UDC in respect of the inner by-pass in addition to the balance necessary to allow the contract to go to tender immediately.

The unexpended balance to which the Deputy refers has not been withdrawn by my Department and it is open to the local authority to draw on this grant in 1984. The provision of a further grant for the scheme is being considered in the context of the determination of road grant allocations for this year.
