Vol. 347 No. 12

Written Answers. - Farm Machinery Imports.

336.

asked the Taoiseach the percentage of agricultural farm machinery (excluding tractors) purchased in 1983 which was imported.

The precise information requested by the Deputy is not available but some information on component flows exists. In the period January — November 1983 imports of agricultural machinery (excluding tractors) were valued at £35.1 million (cif) and exports at £8.2 million (fob) while the value of home production, at factory prices, is estimated at £8.6 million. Parts and accessories are included in these figures.
