asked the Minister for the Environment the number of applications for the aid to the elderly grant made to the South Eastern Health Board by people living in County Wexford; the number that have been processed; the number in which the work has been completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

According to information supplied by the South Eastern Health Board the position as at 31 December 1983, the latest date for which figures are available, is that 232 applications had been received from people living in County Wexford. Of these, 105 had been processed up to that date and work had been completed in 25 cases.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant and mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

The grant was paid recently in this case. Payment of the mortgage subsidy cannot be made until the applicant submits the appropriate claim form duly certified.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house is satisfactorily completed and occupied and complies with all the other conditions of the grant scheme. An inspection will be arranged when the applicant notifies my Department that all outstanding work has been carried out.
