Limerick East): The actual cost of the prison services in 1981 and 1982 (as published in the Appropriation Accounts) were: 1981, £36,705,692; 1982, £42,426,477.
The estimated cost for 1983 (the Appropriation Account has not yet been finalised) was £41,971,563.
These figures include capital expenditure of £11,464,903 in 1981, £15,156,664 in 1982 and £10,697,040 in 1983.
