Vol. 348 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

351.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Wexford is entitled to a house improvement grant; if not, the reason; the date of receipt of the application; and the reason for the extraordinary delay between the period of the date of application and the date of inspection.

The person named is not entitled to a grant because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, work had commenced prior to an inspection of the house. The delay in this case in arranging an inspection did not affect the applicant's eligibility for a grant as she had, in fact, indicated in a letter of 15 November 1981 which accompanied her application form that the relevant works had commenced.

352.

asked the Minister for the Environment the up-to-date position regarding a new house grant application by a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the person named.
