Written Answers. - River Boyle Drainage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Finance the number of persons employed in each financial year since the commencement of the Boyle river drainage schemes; the number of persons transferred to this scheme from other Office of Public Works arterial drainage schemes; the number of persons employed on the scheme from County Roscommon; the numbers from County Roscommon employed on the scheme in the previous financial year; and the amount of money expended to date on the scheme.

The number of persons employed for each financial year since the commencement of the Boyle drainage scheme is as follows: 1982, 18; 1983, 57; and 1984, 60. The number of persons transferred to the Boyle from other schemes is 25. There are currently 32 men from County Roscommon employed on the scheme, the same as in 1983. A sum of £1,388,000 has been expended on the scheme to date.
