Vol. 348 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Monaghan Sewerage Schemes.

385.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give details of (a) housing, (b) water and (c) sewerage schemes in County Monaghan that are awaiting sanction in his Department.

Proposals for housing schemes at Three Mile House (Phase 2), Tyholland (Phase 2) and York Street, Castleblayney, are at present under examination by my Department's inspectorate. Proposals for two further schemes at Newbliss (Phase 3) and Rooskey are the subject of correspondence between my Department and the respective local authorities i.e. Monaghan County Council and Monaghan UDC.

There are no public water or sewerage schemes planned for County Monaghan awaiting sanction in my Department. Contract documents for the Ballybay sewerage scheme were approved on the 6 May 1983 and contract documents for the Castleblayney sewerage improvement scheme were approved on 9 May 1983. It is now a matter for Monaghan County Council and Castleblayney UDC to submit to my Department their proposals in regard to the acceptance of tenders in respect of these schemes.
