asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of cases that have been referred to the social welfare tribunal since its establishment; and if he will give precise details of the settlements made.

The Social Welfare Tribunal has received 13 applications for adjudication, Adjudications have been given in seven cases. In four cases the tribunal decided that the applicants were unreasonably deprived of their employment and were consequently entitled to unemployment benefit or assistance subject to the normal qualifying conditions being fulfilled. In the other three cases the tribunal decided that the applicants were not unreasonably deprived of their employment. A copy of the tribunal's decision in each case, in accordance with the regulations, has been sent to the interested parties.
