Vol. 349 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

427.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

The grant in this case has been paid.

428.

Mr. Coughlan

asked the Minister for the Environment whether a person who purchases a second-hand house, on which no previous grant has been paid, will qualify for the £1,000 grant, assuming that neither the purchaser nor his/her spouse has previously built or purchased a house.

The statutory provisions governing the payment of new house grants do not allow the payment of such a grant in respect of a second-hand house even where the applicants are otherwise qualified.
