The scheme implementing the measures drawn up under Regulation (EEC) 1982-80 commenced in 1981. Accordingly, there are no figures which refer to 1980 and the figures for 1981 represent work completed in the last five months of that year. The State and the EEC each contribute 40 per cent towards the cost of connection, while the remaining 20 per cent of the cost of supply is borne by the beneficiaries.
