(Dún Laoghaire): On 31 December 1981, there were 7,630 persons on the live register at local employment offices in County Galway. Of these, 3,524 were registered at Galway city employment exchange. On 30 December 1983, the corresponding figures were 10,169 and 4,975, respectively.
