There is no record in my Department of the receipt of a new house grant and mortgage subsidy application from the person named.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant and mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.
There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application from the person named.
An application has, however, been received from a person with a slightly different name but the same address. The file in this case has been referred to the Department's inspector for investigation and report with a view to payment of the grant. However, the application in this case for the mortgage subsidy was rejected as the applicant executed his mortgage prior to the 10 April 1981 and the subsidy is payable only in respect of mortgages created on or after this date.
