Vol. 349 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Donegal Water Supply Scheme.

475.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is prepared to make an interim payment of outstanding grants due to Fintown group water supply scheme, County Donegal.

476.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will have a further instalment of a grant paid in respect of Fintown group water scheme, County Donegal.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 475 and 476 together.

State grants totalling £18,600 have been allocated for this scheme, of which £16,450 has been paid to-date. A further payment of £290 will issue to the group within a fortnight. This will bring payments up to 90 per cent of the allocation and is the maximum that can be paid at present. However, my Department are currently reviewing the allocation of grants for the scheme in the light of additional applications and a revised estimate of cost submitted recently by Donegal County Council. If the grant allocation can be increased, a further payment will be made to the group without delay.
