Vol. 350 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Citizen Information.

3.

asked the Taoiseach the number of citizens about whom information is retained on computer in his Department; and if information so recorded is used by his Department for any other purpose.

The Central Statistics Office, who come under the aegis of my Department, retain certain statistical information on computer, but not in a form in which individuals can be identified directly as the computer files do not include names and addresses. All the data involved are used for statistical purposes only.
