The application in this case relates to the provision of a water supply, the installation of sewerage facilities and the building of a bathroom. A grant has been approved in the case of the latter two categories and when the applicant notifies my Department that the works are finished a final inspection will be carried out with a view to payment of the grant. In relation to the water supply approval has not yet issued as the applicant may qualify for a group water scheme grant.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the balance of a grant will be paid to the promoters of a group water scheme (details supplied) in County Clare.
An instalment of grants is issuing to the group which will bring payments to date up to 90 per cent of the total grant allocation for the scheme. Plumbing lists have been sent to the group for certification that a satisfactory water supply has been installed in the houses of eligible applicants. When these lists have been completed and returned to my Department the domestic supplies in the scheme will be checked by the Department's inspector to enable further payment of grants to the group to be considered.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow.
The grant will be paid as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the first instalment of a mortgage subsidy will be paid to persons (details supplied) in County Galway.
It is a condition of the mortgage subsidy scheme that subsidy is payable only when the appropriate new house grant has been paid. The grant will be paid to the person named when an inspection establishes that the house is completed and occupied and complies with all the other conditions of the scheme. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.
