The total net amount paid annually to CIE by my Department since the inception of the school transport scheme is set out in tabular form. My Department make no direct payments to private bus owners. As my Department's agent in connection with the school transport scheme, CIE administers the school transport services. These services include those in which private bus owners are involved.
