Vol. 350 No. 13

Written Answers. - Boatyard Repayments.

531.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the amount due to the Exchequer as on 30 April 1984 by the proprietors of the following boatyards (1) Killybegs, (2) Dingle and (3) Arklow; the extent the repayments are in arrears in each of these cases; if he has received any proposals for the re-opening of the Killybegs boatyard.

The amounts due to An Bord Iascaigh Mhara in respect of the boatyards at Killybegs and Dingle is a confidential matter as between the board and the purchasers and I am therefore not in a position to provide the information sought. There is no money due to the Board in respect of any boatyard in Arklow. Killybegs Shipyard Ltd. is in voluntary liquidation and ownership of the yard has reverted to BIM in accordance with the conditions of sale. The board propose to advertise the yard for sale or lease.
