Vol. 351 No. 5

Estimates for Public Services, 1984. - Vote 1: President's Establishment.

I move:

That a sum not exceeding £227,000 be granted to defray the charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of December, 1984, for the salaries and expenses of the Office of the Secretary to the President, and for certain other expenses of the President's Establishment.

Deputies will have seen the provision made in the Estimates for this. The only notable item to which attention may be drawn is the increase in the provision for 1984 for subhead B — Travelling and Incidental Expenses. The extra provision there arises from the fact that we have made provision to cover the estimated cost of two State visits abroad by the President during the course of this year.

Vote put and agreed to.
