Return to Writ: Constituency of LaoisOffaly.

The Clerk of the Dáil made the following announcement: I gcomhlíonadh Bhuan-Ordú 137 de Bhuan-Orduithe Dháil Éireann i dtaobh Gnó Phoiblí, tá orm a chraoladh gur toghadh Brian Ó Comhain don Dáil sa chorrthoghchán a bhí ann an 14ú lá de Mheitheamh, 1984 do Dháilcheantar Laois-Uíbh Fhailí de chionn an Teachta Bearnard Ó Comhain d'fháil bháis. Tá an Rolla de Chomhaltaí sínithe ag an Teachta Brian Ó Comhain de réir Bhuan-Ordú a hAon.
In compliance with Standing Order 137 of the Standing Orders of Dáil Éireann relative to Public Business, I have to announce that Brian Cowen has been elected to the Dáil at the by-election held on 14 June 1984, for the Constituency of Laoighis-Offaly consequent on the death of Deputy Bernard Cowen. Deputy Brian Cowen has signed the Roll of Members in accordance with Standing Order 1.
Deputy Brian Cowen, the new Member for the Constituency of Laoighis-Offaly was introduced to the Ceann Comhairle by Deputy B. Ahern.
