asked the Minister for Justice the total number of applications to the High Court in each of the last two years for (a) decrees of divorce a mensa et thoro; and (b) decrees of annulments; and the total number of decrees made by the High Court or the Supreme Court on appeal.

asked the Minister for Justice the total number of proceedings instituted in the High Court in each of the last four years seeking court orders pursuant to (a) section 12 of the Married Women's Status Act, 1957; and (b) section 5 of the Family Home Protection Act, 1976.

Limerick East): The available information relates to all proceedings instituted in the High Court under the Married Women's Status Act 1957 and the Family Home Protection Act 1976 but it is understood that the vast majority of such proceedings relate to section 12 and 5 respectively of those Acts.

asked the Minister for Justice the total number of applications in each Circuit Court area in each of the two years commencing 1st May 1982 for (a) decrees of divorce a mensa et thoro; (b) maintenance orders; (c) barring orders; (d) custody/access orders pursuant to the Guardianship of Infants Act, 1964; and (e) property orders pursuant to section 12 of the Married Womens Status Act, 1957 or section 5 of the Family Home Protection Act, 1976; and the total number of orders made by the Circuit Court in each circuit court area under applications (a) to (e) inclusive.

The information sought in relation to applications for access orders is not readily ascertainable from the records maintained in District Court offices. The abstraction of the information would involve a disproportionate amount of staff time.
