Generally the average time lapse between the receipt of notification of completion of work under both schemes and the carrying out of an inspection is estimated to be four to six weeks; the exact time in particular cases depends on a number of factors, the principal one being the inspector's workload at the time an inspection is requested. Apart from the general position, it is inevitable, given the volume of applications received, that there will arise from time to time individual cases where a longer period than the average may arise.
