asked the Minister for the Environment the average cost to the relevant county councils for building a single rural cottage in each of the following counties for years ended 31 December 1981, 1982 and 1983, in Kerry, Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Wexford and Dublin.

2. Average prices for different years for different areas may not be fully comparable because of variations in local circumstances etc.
3. The devolved procedures operated in the years in question did not require my sanction to the acceptance of tenders for rural cottages. Accordingly the information requested in respect of Kerry, Mayo, Clare and Dublin County Councils is not available in the Department.
