Vol. 352 No. 5

Written Answers. - Measles Vaccination Programme.

165.

asked the Minister for Health when it is intended to provide a nationwide measles vaccination programme.

My Department recently completed their consideration of the requirements of a measles vaccination programme for this country. On the basis of this consideration I am satisfied that a wider availability of the vaccine than currently exists is now necessary. In view of the planning, organisational and financial requirements involved, I would envisage the programme commencing at the beginning of 1985.
