The stocked area of each State forest centre in County Donegal at 31-12-83 is set out in the table beneath.
The total area planted (including reaf-forestation) in County Donegal during the 1983-84 season was approximately 800 hectares. Final details of the 1984-85 planting programme are not yet available.
Last year an aggregate area of some 526 hectares was purchased in County Donegal for State afforestation. This year, to date, approximately 162 hectares have been purchased and contracts have been entered into for purchase of a further 800 hectares in the county.
