Vol. 352 No. 8

Written Answers. - Dublin Site Redevelopment.

471.

asked the Minister for Finance when the Office of Public Works will be in a position to reach agreement with Dublin Corporation so as to allow redevelopment to proceed at the derelict site at Murtagh Road, Dublin 7, adjacent to the Arbour Hill Memorial Grounds.

The Commissioners of Public Works are at present holding discussions with Dublin Corporation, the Department of Defence and the Army authorities about the future of the site at Murtagh Road. In view of the sensitive nature of the area involved and the grave necessity to consider every aspect of security, an extremely careful examination of all aspects of the development must be made. It is not possible at this juncture to say when agreement can be reached but it is hoped that a solution suitable to all concerned will be found in the near future.
