Vol. 352 No. 8

Written Answers. - Disabled Persons' Grants.

398.

asked the Minister for the Environment if the installation of a lift in a convent where a number of the sisters are suffering from handicaps will qualify for a disabled persons reconstruction grant.

The Disabled Persons' Grants Scheme relates to the carrying out of special works to an existing house to facilitate the provision of proper accommodation in the case of a physically disabled or severely mentally handicapped person. Under Article 22 of the Housing Regulations, 1980, it is a matter for individual local authorities to determine eligibility under the scheme.
