Vol. 352 No. 10

Written Answers. - County Galway Water Supply.

343.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a supply of water will be brought to Dunmore, County Galway with the implementation of Dunmore/Glenamaddy regional water supply scheme; when the next phase of Gortgorrow regional water scheme will be completed; the priority rating of a water supply for Dunmore; and when a capital allocation will be made for this scheme.

It is proposed to serve Dunmore, County Galway, from phases 1 and 2 of the Dunmore/Glenamaddy regional water supply scheme, stage 2. I expect to be in a position to issue a decision on Galway County Council's revised preliminary proposals for this scheme shortly. The question of allocating capital will not of course arise until the scheme has been fully planned. The priority rating of this scheme would be primarily a matter for the council and it was placed at number 7 on a priority list submitted to my Department on 30 June 1984.

There are no proposals in my Department for a water supply scheme for Gort-gorrow.
