, Limerick East): As I have indicated in reply to previous parliamentary questions, my Department are not directly involved in the holding of competitions for entry to the Garda Síochána or the calling up of candidates and I regret that I am unable to undertake to give information by way of reply to parliamentary questions in relation to the position of individual candidates. Any such information can be sought by candidates, or on their behalf, from the Garda authorities who will supply details in so far as it may be possible to do so at any particular time but it will be appreciated that such information may not be available.
