The total gallonage of milk notified to the Department under the co-responsibility levy regulations and verified by the Department's inspectors at 29 February 1984 was 808 million gallons (3.78 million tonnes). In addition a total of 326 million gallons (1.528 million tonnes) was subject to verification at that time. Under the inspection levy regulations the total gallonage notified and verified at that date was 812 million gallons (3.80 million tonnes) while a further 304 million gallons (1.42 million tonnes) was subject to verification.
