The Government welcomed the committee's report when it was published in February 1984. Some of the recommendations in the report have already been implemented. Where appropriate, funds have been sought from the EC. Government Departments are examining the report with a view to determining the merits of the recommendations and whether they can be implemented given the limit on our financial resources.
