asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Galway asked for a final inspection of his house; the reason it has not been carried out to date; and when it is proposed to carry it out.
The file in this case is with my Department's inspector for a report with a view to payment of the grant, if in order. It has not been possible to contact the inspector in the time available to ascertain, from the file, when the request for the final inspection was received from the applicant. However the inspector will be asked to carry out an inspection as quickly as possible.

There is no record of the receipt in my Department of an application for a new house grant from the person named. An application has, however, been received from a person of the same surname and address but with a different Christian name. The file in that case is with my Department's inspector for investigation and report.
