The provision of new accommodation for Castlerea, which will involve very substantial expenditure, has to be seen in the context of overall post primary planning for the town.
There are two post primary schools in Castlerea with a total of 686 pupils. My Department has discussed the position with the school authorities with a view to obtaining a unification of post primary provision for the town.
The matter is at present under consideration in the light of the views of the school authorities and other interested parties. I hope to be in a position to make a decision at an early date.
