asked the Minister for the Public Service if he will give details of the pay awards to public servants since 1981.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Public Service Pay Awards.
The question has been taken to cover the main pay increases granted to public servants in 1981, 1982, 1983, and 1984 to date. The term "public servants" has been taken to comprise civil servants, the Defence Forces, teachers — primary, secondary and vocational — all employees in the health area, and staffs of local authorities, certain grant-aided bodies, universities and colleges.
As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement I propose to circulate it in the Official Report.
Following are particulars of general pay increases to public servants since 1981 payable, in most cases, from the dates indicated:

Will the Minister give me the real figures for 1985?
There seems to be a lot of data in the answer.
The Deputy appears to be dealing in the realm of the future.
I always think forward.
