Limerick East): I propose to take Questions Nos. 470 and 471 together.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Parliamentary Questions on 23 October 1984 in which I indicated that the Minister of State at my Department does not employ a civilian driver, but, as an exceptional measure, is provided with an official car and Garda driver for long official journeys, as required.

Any travelling expenses paid to the Minister of State are paid out of the Vote for the Department of the Taoiseach, at which Department she is also a Minister of State. I understand that information as to the amount paid in the period referred to was given by the Taoiseach in reply to a Question by the Deputy on 21 November.
