Vol. 354 No. 12

Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme.

115.

andMr. O'Kennedy asked the Minister for Finance the total amount of money expended under all headings by his Department on the decentralisation programme of the public service which has been terminated by his Government, the location proposed, the amount of money expended for each location under all heads, and if he will make a statement on the entire decentralisation position.

As announced in the principal features of the Budget on 9 February 1983 the decentralisation programme, the total estimated cost of which would have been in the region £40 million -£50 million, has been cancelled. As part of the reply is in the form of a tabular statement setting out the details sought by the Deputy I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate it in the Official Report.
