Vol. 355 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

574.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason for the delay in the payment of the EC calf subsidy.

There has been no delay. Payment of premium to calves born during the period 1 January 1984 to 15 June 1984 commenced on 17 December 1984, that is, after all calves born during that period had reached six months of age. Payments will continue for a further two months, approximately until the 127,000 applicants whose claims are in order, are paid.

575.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry was not paid his 1982 and 1983 sheep headage grants.

The person named, who is resident for most of the year in the UK, has been asked to produce evidence in support of his statement that it is necessary for him to stay there for medical reasons and also to confirm that he has no off farm income. Whenever he produces the evidence required, his eligibility under the 1982 and 1983 schemes will be considered.

576.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange to pay a water installation grant under the farm modernisation scheme to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

There is no grant outstanding in this case.
