Vol. 355 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments

294.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for immediate payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

In relation to this case it is a statutory condition of the grant scheme that an application must be received in my Department within 12 months of the date of occupation of the House. This particular application was not received within that period.

295.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will approve maximum grants for Ballybrogan group water scheme, Lecarrow, County Roscommon.

My Department have asked this group to obtain quotations for materials and the carrying out of the scheme so that an estimate of costs may be prepared with a view to the allocation of State grants as appropriate for this scheme.

296.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny will receive a reconstruction grant for a back kitchen and bathroom.

This grant will be paid shortly.

297.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Laois will receive his grant for house improvement and water passed by an inspector in early August.

The grants approved in this case were paid on 12 December 1984. The payment of a grant in respect of the provision of a water supply did not arise as this facility already existed in the house.

298.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a reconstruction grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as all works approved under the grant are now complete.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named. However, there is an application from a person with a similar surname and the same address. In the latter case water and sewerage grants were paid in June 1984 and a grant relating to the carrying out of repairs to the fabric of the house was paid on 12 December 1984.

299.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a home improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

An inspection will be arranged in this case with a view to payment of the grants approved as soon as possible. The relevant claim for payment was received on 17 January 1985.

300.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

Provisional approval to a new house grant and mortgage subsidy was issued to the person named on 9 January 1985 together with a list of outstanding works which must be completed before a grant can be paid. When my Department are notified that these works are completed, a final inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant.
