Vol. 355 No. 5

Written Answers. - Disabled Person's Maintenance Allowance.

377.

asked the Minister for Health the reason a disabled person's maintenance allowance has not yet been granted to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary as he suffers from a severe and chronic illness and his wife and family are living under almost impossible financial circumstances; and when this will be paid.

The South Eastern Health Board is considering an appeal against its original decision to refuse the person's application for a disabled person's maintenance allowance. As the person was in hospital on a number of occasions recently, the board has been unable to make a final decision in this case. However, a decision is now expected very shortly.
