Vol. 355 No. 7

Written Answers. - Cost of Inquiries.

588.

asked the Minister for Labour the total cost to the State of each public/judicial inquiry held under the aegis of his Department in the past ten years; and the individual cost in each case.

No public/judicial inquiry under the aegis of my Department was held in the past ten years. It is assumed that the question does not cover commissions to inquire into certain matters comming within my area of responsibility such as occupational safety or industrial relations issues and whose proceedings were not public; nor inquiries undertaken as part of their normal functions by autonomous statutory bodies which are financed from my Department's Vote.
