asked the Taoiseach the total cost to the State of each public/judicial inquiry held under the aegis of his Department in the past ten years; and the individual cost in each case.

The sole judicial/public inquiry held under the aegis of my Department in the last ten years was the Tribunal of Inquiry set up in 1975 to inquire into certain allegation affecting the Minister for Local Government. The total expenditure by the State in this inquiry was £3,224.46.
