Vol. 355 No. 10

Written Answers. - Environmental Pollution.

440.

asked the Minister for the Environment the body which is responsible for the monitoring of environmental pollution levels in Dublin city and county; and the body which is entrusted with the enforcement of local, national and European Community legislation on environmental pollution.

In general the enforcement of national legislation on environmental matters (including legislation and regulations which implement Community law) and the operation of associated monitoring arrangements is a matter for the appropriate local authorities, which, in the Dublin area, are Dublin Corporation, Dublin County Council and Dún Laoghaire Corporation.
