Vol. 355 No. 10

Written Answers. - House Improvement Grants.

443.

Mr. Coughlan

asked the Minister for the Environment in view of the fact that new house grants are being increased from £1,000 to £1,750 if it is intended that increases will be made in house improvement grants; the extent of such increases; and moneys that are being made available for house improvement grants in 1985.

An increase in the level of house improvement grants is not contemplated at present. The total provision this year for such grants is £8 million as against a provision of £6.7 million in 1984.
